'Project Appreciation': Sucess!
On Tuesday, July 10th, 2007, the first annual ‘Project Appreciation’ came to a close. America’s Remote Help Desk (ARHD) presented a donation of over $12,000 worth of goods to the Soldier Family Assistance Center (SFAC) at Walter Reed Medical Center. The items donated included non-perishable food, personal care and hygiene products, and recreational items such as books, DVDs, DVD players, and MP3 players. ARHD coordinated the donations drive over the course of several months, receiving support from the Eldersburg community, their customers and employees and Maryland Congressmen.
Donations were collected from Congressman Steny Hoyer and his staff, the Eldersburg community, and from ARHD employees, and the following companies:
 Grotech Capital Partners
- The Emerging Technology Center
- Riden-Bringhurst Associates
- Hughes Sales
- Schaefer and Strohminger
- International Resources Group
- The Taney Corporation
- Care Resources Incorporated
- idX
“We are so thrilled with the response we received from our customers and the community for this project. We couldn’t have done it without them. We also appreciate the efforts of Congressman Hoyer and his staff; their support and enthusiasm for this project was fantastic. We look forward to working with everyone again next year to make Project Appreciation 2008 even more successful,” stated Rich Rubinstein, President of ARHD.
The donations ceremony was held on July 10th in the SFAC and was attended by soldiers currently receiving treatment at Walter Reed, Brigade Sergeant Major Rodolfo Delvalle, Stephen Maguire, Director of Soldier Family Assistance Center and SFAC Staff members from Walter Reed. Also in attendance was Lillian Cruz representing Congressman Van Hollen, and Claire O’Shea and Terrance Taylor representing Congressman Hoyer. The donations were presented by ARHD staff members Richard Rubinstein, President; Harvie Combass, Director of IT Services; and Kelley Fitzgerald, Marketing Director. “We are honored to have the opportunity to give back to our service men and women. They put their lives on the line for us and we want to let them know how much we appreciate their sacrifice. It’s the least we could do,” stated Rich Rubinstein.
Thank you again to everyone who helped to make Project Appreciation such a success. Your support has really made a difference to the soldiers recuperating at Walter Reed and we look forward to working with you again next year during Project Appreciation 2008!
