When I was in Cairo and requested internet access, an overeager IT specialist from the Egyptian Regulatory Agency, got on our laptops and in a flash had altered our user names and domain settings so as to give us access to the LAN. The consequence of this was that we were not able to go back to our domain settings and could not access our email or any of our files. We were operating as if we had brand new computers without access to our information. I placed a call to our Help Desk at about 6 am EDT and left a voice mail requesting help. To my amazement, my call was returned by Josh Lippy about 10 minutes later. After a brief discussion and after Josh connected remotely to my computer, it was clear that solving the problem could not be done while I was connected to the Agency's LAN. I scheduled a later time to work with Josh when I was back in the hotel. Josh was diligent in following up with me and after an hour of working with me over the phone and remotely on my laptop, Josh was able to restore my computer to its original state.
This is a good example of the reach of our Help Desk no matter where in the globe you might be. I want to personally thank Josh for his professional diligence in responding to our issue and working until he resolved the problem.
